AIA Carnival TVC 2018-19
In celebration of the 5th anniversary of AIA Carnival, we introduce a new “Space” theme to rebrand the event. With relation to the new theme, galaxy is the key element in this TV commercial from the lighting to visual effects.
The challenge of this project was the limited time and resource. A 30-second TV advertisement was expected to be released within a month. We had 5 people in the team to coordinate and plan the production. In the 1st week, our team brainstormed the story and outlined the storyboard. In the art direction part, the research of related look and feel reference gave me a better picture of the purchase and rental of lighting and props. We used 3 days for the decoration of of two main scenes. Under such limited time, we were able to finish the filming within a day. It was not perfect but we had all the footage ready for the post-production in 2 weeks. At the post-production stage, VFX was applied to cover the flaws in the filming as well as enhance the galaxy elements. Sound design further promoted the impact of the visuals. The commercial was released successfully within a month of production. The new galaxy theme of the carnival was well liked by the audience.
